Eyelash Extensions

What are lash extensions?

Lash extensions are semi-permanent synthetic lashes that are professionally applied to one individual natural lash. An eyelash extension will create the illusion of 1 to 3 coats of mascara. From a natural to dramatic look the possibilities are endless with eyelash extensions.

Lash extensions are very customizable for every type and shape of eye. For example, lash extensions can open someone’s eyes up more, or they can even elongate the eyes.
How Long Do Eyelash Extensions Last

How long do eyelash extensions last?

Lash extensions typically last about 6-8 weeks. There are many factors that come into play. For example, we all have a lash cycle. On average we lose about 24 natural lashes in the 1st week of the lash cycle, another 24 natural lashes in the 2nd week, and an additional 14 lashes in the 3rd week (on average).

Since a lash extension is placed on individual natural lashes, it will naturally shed along with your lash.

Your lash extensions won’t shed off with the natural lash extensions all at once, because the natural lashes are all in different stages of growth in the lash cycle.

You might start to notice little gaps in your lash extensions due to your natural eyelashes shedding. This is an indication that you need your lash extensions filled.

A lash extension fill is when new lash extensions are added to the gaps.

Outgrown lash extensions are gently removed from the natural lash and replaced with a new lash extension.

Another factor that will determine the longevity is how you take care of your extensions. It is crucial to stay away from water, steam, oily products for 24 to 48 hours after application. This will severely affect the lash adhesive and break it down. After 24-48 hrs, it is important to thoroughly clean your lashes every other day or every day with a lash cleansing foam and also brush them with a mascara wand. Thoroughly caring for your lashes helps them last longer.

Different types of lash extensions

Lash extensions are very customizable and different for everyone.

Curled lashes are great for creating volume without adding too much weight. For example, if you just want length, no Curl, and natural, B curl will be perfect. If you want the look if you have used a lash curler, then C curl will be perfect. If you want more of a noticeable curl and dolly effect, D curl will be perfect. Individuals with straight lashes would receive L curl will be perfect because the base of the lash extension is straight and then angles up to a subtle curl.

“Doll style” focuses on longer lashes in the middle of your eye and shorter lashes at the corners of the eye.

Cluster lashes?

Cluster lashes are not made for lash extensions. Cluster lashes are supposed to be used temporarily for one day. They are not meant not for everyday use. By using cluster lashes, you run the risk of gluing multiple natural lashes together and causing damage to the natural lashes.

Eyelash extension sizes?

Typically lash extensions sizes goes from 6 mm to 15 mm. It’s very important to get the right lash extension applied to the natural lash. The extensions should be no more than 1-2 mm longer than your natural lashes. Lash extensions won’t last long and cause strain to your natural lashes if you go over the 1-2 mm rule.

Can you curl eyelash extensions?

It’s absolutely crucial that you do not curl your lashes with the extension on. This will dramatically affect the look of the set, cause retention issues, and you can damage your natural lashes. If you desire a curlier look you can always request a curled lash set.

How to take off lash extensions.

You can naturally let the lash extensions shed off. If you don’t want to wait and have them removed as soon as possible, it is best to get them professionally removed. Professional lash remover is applied to lash extensions, and it will break down the lash adhesive without damaging your natural lashes. We recommend professional removal for the safest and best results.

Are eyelash extensions bad for you?

Lash extensions will not damage your natural lashes, but improper application, length, and thickness could. It is also important to not pick at your lashes which result early shedding. There is definitely an art and science to lash extension application.

Individual lashes?

“Individual lash extensions” also known as “Classic lash extensions”. One lash extension  applied to one natural eyelash. They simply make your natural lashes appear longer, curlier and give the appearance of wearing mascara.

Lash Lift

A lash lift is a great alternative to lash extensions if you have full, healthy and medium length lashes. Its a perm for your eyelashes! A lash lift will curl natural lashes permanently to give an eyes wide open look. This will make eyelashes seem fuller and more noticeable.

A great complimentary service is a lash tint to darken lashes to a desired color that lasts as long as your natural eyelash cycle.

Double eyelash vs normal

Double eyelashes are caused by a disorder known as distichiasis. This is also associated with certain types of health conditions. A double eyelash is an abnormal lash that may grow out naturally or turn inward toward the eye itself. When the natural lashes grow inward, the eyelashes may scratch the surface of the eye and cause discomfort and potentially pain.
